For those of you who saw my character in game you should notice that her last name is “brightwing” originally it was not. Also Imriela has the same last name, but they werent orginially sister either.. so heres the first half of how she became to be a Brightwing.
Her name was Imriela Brightwing with an attitude as bright as her name, she was a priestess at that and a very valuable ally to Deadlei and it was only fate that they met.
Around that time Deadlei was still in contract with Caser so she still had to be present whenever he summoned her, which wasn’t very often. So she did quite a lot of “independent study”. She carried no money with her for room and board but enjoyed sleeping under the black sheet of sky, embellished in diamonds. Often if she was in need of money she would reluctantly run errands for others in exchange for gold, never letting them see her panic except for one.
Deadlei had a tendency to be late for her appointments with clients in the Undercity, not because she was trying to, but simply because she could never find her way around and would spend a significant amount of time just searching for the right location. One day she got an offer from a shady looking forsaken rogue to go and gather some “supplies” from his home in Deathknell. There was as hefty sum so she accepted. She set off on her own, uneasy about her decision but still kept her head held high. Tirisfal Glades sent silent chills up her spine and she sauntered through the misty woods while the ghostly winds whispered in her ear and waltzed through her golden blonde sheets of hair. Scraggly looking wolves glared at her with blood shot eyes but didn’t dare to approach her, and bats shrieked through the hazy grey sky. She had a feeling someone was keeping her under surveillance but she didn’t dare to turn around. When she reached the edge of Stillwater Pond she bit her cherry lips and closed her eyes walking forward. Then a hand touched her shoulder.
“AHH!” she cried out, whirling around swiftly and holding out her staff in a hurry. “Quiet.” the voice said sharply grabbing her wrist. “You cant let them know that I’m with you.” the voice said again more calmly this time. “But why…” Deadlei began to say until a small hand with golden nails reached out and covered her mouth. “Not here.” she said again before backing away letting Deadlei get a good look at her. She had brownish hair pulled up in a head band, a long slender figure, and wore robes of gold to match her nails, she had a calm expression but if you looked closely you could see sparks crackling in her eyes from excitement.
“Pleased to meet you.” she said whispering softly. “I’m Lady Imriela Brightwing, and you are?” she asked. “Deadlei. Just…Deadlei.” Deadlei replied uncomfortably. “Follow me Deadlei.” she said walking away from the water. Once they were a adequate distance away from the pond Imriela began to speak more clearly. “That forsaken man who offered you business. What do you know of him?” she asked Deadlei seriously. “Nothing except for that he offered me a large bit of gold to retrieve some supplies in a bag from his home.” she said indifferently looking up into the sky. Imriela then looked at a large gash on Deadlei’s cheek and held out her hands in front of her, making a glowing light form from her hands and onto the cut, healing it instantly.
“A priestess…In a place like this?…“ Deadlei thought to herself stunned. “That rogue to whom you agreed to do business for has stolen something very valuable to me- and a lot of Sin Dorei in the region, and has been selling them for quite a lot of gold. I was sent to retrieve the Brightwing family heirloom by my eldest brother.” she said aggravated as she dug her heel in the dirt. “…and you want MY help?” Deadlei asked her mockingly. Imriela nodded and smiled up at her. “Alright.” she replied simply and walked towards Deathknell.
On the way Imriela explained to Deadlei the importance of retrieving her family heirloom, and how without it her family would be deemed insignificant. In return Deadlei enlightened Imriela about her devious journey to escape her old existence in place for a new one. At that moment they finally connected and slowly began to have more of an understanding for each other. Deadlei felt as if she had a friend.
When they reached Deathknell things became more silent as they observed the isolated terrain. There stood a lonely abode with boarded up windows and glass shattered all around the mounds of dead grass and dirt. Stepping up towards the open space where the door once stood, Deadlei glanced over at Imriela nervously. “What do you suppose we do?…” she said shakily while listening to a soft gurgling noise that seemed to be coming towards them. “I suppose we must have to fight what ever is in there.” Imriela replied calmly keeping her head high. “Then we must…” she replied taking a step into the house.
